So I'm In A Hospital Bed...
Alright, for stupid reasons, I am currently confined to a hospital bed.
My father has brought in a laptop with about 2 hours of battery left on it.
And I can't get up.
What do I do to amuse myself?

Rent some ebooks from your local (or not local) library's website, then turn the computer to "super super battery saver". I recommend Harry Dresden.

Stumbleupon. Sign up, tell it what sort of stuff you're interested in, and it'll vend random stuff to you all day.

You could always try coming up with a system. Or gaming. Or masturbating.

You're gonna want either more battery life or some good old pencil and paper.
"But transportation issues are social-justice issues. The toll of bad transit policies and worse infrastructure—trains and buses that don’t run well and badly serve low-income neighborhoods, vehicular traffic that pollutes the environment and endangers the lives of cyclists and pedestrians—is borne disproportionately by black and brown communities."

He jumps like a damned dragoon, and charges into battle fighting rather insane monsters with little more than his bare hands and rather nasty spell effects conjured up solely through knowledge and the local plantlife. He unerringly knows where his goal lies, he breathes underwater and is untroubled by space travel, seems to have no limits to his actual endurance and favors killing his enemies by driving both boots square into their skull. His agility is unmatched, and his strength legendary, able to fling about a turtle shell big enough to contain a man with enough force to barrel down a near endless path of unfortunates.

Opening a google reader account, subscribing it to a few known good news feeds, and then reading its recommended articles and feeds while liking, disliking, and subscribing like crazy can waste an hour pretty well.

A really, really good webcomic in my opinion--even better than Schlock Mercenary--is David Gonterman's ongoing series 'Scarlet P.I.' The link is here.
Josh Kablack wrote:Your freedom to make rulings up on the fly is in direct conflict with my freedom to interact with an internally consistent narrative. Your freedom to run/play a game without needing to understand a complex rule system is in direct conflict with my freedom to play a character whose abilities and flaws function as I intended within that ruleset. Your freedom to add and change rules in the middle of the game is in direct conflict with my ability to understand that rules system before I decided whether or not to join your game.
In short, your entire post is dismissive of not merely my intelligence, but my agency. And I don't mean agency as a player within one of your games, I mean my agency as a person. You do not want me to be informed when I make the fundamental decisions of deciding whether to join your game or buying your rules system.
The real advantage for Schlock for that sort of intensive reading is that he has 3650 days of comics which gives him approximately 1303 pages of comic strip.Crissa wrote:Lago... That's a serious troll if I ever saw one. Gonterman is legendary for the badness of his stories.

Which is a metric buttload and will keep you placated for a couple of days.
